Pollack's
Galaxy Is not really a galaxy per say but to me more of a symbolic representation of a remarkable artist's vision, Jackson Pollock. This fluid style and technique of art was what I saw after about an hour of image manipulation and artistic flight. By reworking an image that I took this year with Photoshop to I was able to create a sporadic yet effortless moving composition with lines and shade overlapping containing waves of light and color. My Inspiration is not always natural yet for this work I can't help but observe it's relationship to the organic. Human expression often ends up imitating the flow of life, raindrops on a window crawling, even fractal patterns in crystallized snowflakes. In these frozen pixels much like Jackson's painted vision I fumble toward chaos to reach some semblance of order. My media the virtual, my pallet, a camera, my brushes; Photoshop. |
Creation
through Osmosis How to mold chaos using the principles of art and still maintain balance? I arrived at this piece based on a photo I took this summer of simple rebar left behind at a local mini-mall construction site. Hastily I jumped out of my car just to pop off a couple of shots. It was a scorching day and I forgot my hat so this had to be quick, 110 degree no cloud in the sky weather while standing on concrete is just wrong. After quickly adjusting my "Manual" settings I began to shoot what I thought might work for later use in a possible series. Only recently have I started exploring this series of shots. I am excited to see what will come of these new musings. |
